PAST ACTIVITIES in OCTOBER:

Friday ~ Sunday, October 24~26 ( https://gwfbt.com/ ) GREAT WESTERN FAN BELT TOSS

This always popular & fun extravaganza in Cathedral City (Palm Springs) was a blast! This year’s re-configured venue worked out super. Most of the rooms overlooked the pool area with the Corvairs out on the golf course just beyond the pool. The weather cooperated peaking at around 95 and cooling off to the high 60’s at night. This contributed to the large number of ‘shoppers’ who visited the Swap Meet in the hotel’s parking lot as well as the indoor vendors who were able to avoid the weather altogether in the hotel’s breezeways!

The quantity and quality of the exhibition Corvairs was exceptional with 80 officially registered and somewhere around 95~100 total Corvair vehicles in attendance. This was the most beautiful lineup of Corvairs that I have ever witnessed. It was definitely on par with the national Convention!

The event was very well run, organized and pretty much on-schedule. Nice job!

AND our club members brought home 2 ‘Best of Class’ trophies! Way to go Paul & Jon!!

There were some great ‘buys’ at the Swap Meet and the raffle prizes and ‘Gift Baskets’ were a real step-up.

Let’s keep this momentum going…get involved and enjoy next year!

THIS MONTH’S ACTIVITIES:

We have no scheduled activities for November. Taking a break after the Fan Belt Toss and focusing for a busy Holiday Season. 11/27 is Thanksgiving ...and... right afterwards I have arranged for us to:

~ Cruise in, show our Corvairs & enjoy a nice Irish lunch at The Pub’s monthly Car Show

on Saturday 12/6 @ 11:00am~2:00pm.

Jump in your ‘vair (or any other means of transportation.) and join in for a small show and a big lunch!

This is a low key neighborhood show with great food in a quaint Irish Restaurant!
